This Isn’t About Your Feminine Energy
At some point, you’ve probably heard this.
That you need to be more in your feminine energy.
And on some level…
it might even feel true.
Because you don’t feel soft.
You don’t feel relaxed.
You don’t feel open or light in your relationship.
You feel responsible.
Focused.
Alert.
In control.
And that doesn’t feel like the version of you
that you actually want to be.
So it’s easy to assume…
that something is wrong with you.
That you’ve become too masculine.
Too controlling.
Too independent.
But that’s not what’s happening.
You don’t lack feminine energy.
You’re in a structure that doesn’t allow you to access it.
Because when you are the one carrying everything…
there is no space to relax.
When you are managing the relationship…
there is no space to soften.
When you are responsible for everything holding together…
there is no space to let go.
And without that space…
your energy shifts.
Not because you’re doing something wrong.
But because you’re responding to the environment you’re in.
You become more structured.
More focused.
More controlled.
Because you have to be.
That’s what keeps everything working.
But it comes at a cost.
Because the part of you that wants to feel:
connected
open
supported
at ease
has nowhere to land.
And over time…
that part of you goes quiet.
Not because it’s gone.
But because it doesn’t feel safe to show up.
And that’s why this advice feels so frustrating.
Because you can’t “be more feminine”
inside a structure that requires you to carry everything.
You don’t need to become something different.
You need a dynamic
that allows a different version of you to exist.
One where you’re not responsible for everything.
One where you’re not holding it all together.
One where you don’t have to stay in control to feel safe.
Because when that changes…
so do you.
If this is starting to shift how you see yourself in your relationship, this is exactly the work I do inside The Partnership Shift.
